It has been four years since Ian Tyson’s last album and it is worth the wait. Produced at the age of 78, Ian Tyson shows no signs of slowing down, still performing numerous concerts and running his ranch in Alberta.

The CD title, Raven Singer, is from the name Ka-ree-a-hiatha bestowed upon him by the Nakoda First Nations which translates into “The Raven that Sings”. The 10 track CD are songs reflecting the places he explored and people he has met over his life time.

Tyson himself says the record is a collection of songs built around the road back from the loss of his voice in 2006. “I think I’ve learned how to make my ‘new voice’ work.”
